Getting to Know Roof-A-Cide®, Your Roof Cleaning Staple

To perform properly and look its best, your roof needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. In this post, Earl W. Johnston Roofing, LLC showcases one of the best roof cleaning products available today.

Step Aside for Roof-A-Cide®

Roof-A-Cide is an eco-friendly, non-toxic and EPA-approved algaecide that has been on the market since 1992. It is effective for the treatment and prevention of recurring algae growth, mold, mildew, dirt and other unsightly stains on your roof. The product does not contain bleach, chlorine or caustic substances, making it a perfectly safe roof cleaning solution.

Advantages of Algaecide

When you use Roof-A-Cide, you help preserve the structural integrity of your roof surface. Regular roof cleaning methods use harmful chemicals and high-pressure washing techniques that can compromise your roofing system. Repeatedly and improperly power washing your roof is not sustainable and can do more harm than good by causing premature deterioration.

How and Where Does It Work?

The algaecide is applied on a clean, dry roof using a fine-mist spray wand. The treatment then chemically bonds to the roof, effectively preventing the growth of airborne algae spores. Your roof doesn’t have to be cleaned prior to the treatment if it was installed within 12-18 months of the procedure. Roof-A-Cide can be used on asphalt shingles, steel shingles, concrete, clay, tile, stone-coated steel and slate roofs.

Will It Affect Warranties?

Unless otherwise stated, the Roof-A-Cide treatment will not affect the manufacturer’s warranty of your roof. You may consult your roof repair contractor and roofing manufacturer regarding the terms of their warranty.

Earl W. Johnston Roofing, LLC uses Roof-A-Cide to restore your roof to its former glory. You may contact us at (954) 989-7794 to learn more about this safe and cost-effective roof cleaning alternative. We serve Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs and Hollywood, FL.
